In the Silence of the Father's Heart

Worn out from the noise

that was driving my journey,

my hopeful feet pressed on in pursuit

of being with the One

who loved me first.

The trees, obedient to the wind, bent

down around my path and seemed to utter

one long prophetic word,

I stopped listening to the wearying

noise which shouted like billboards

and soon found His open heart.

A familiar voice beckoned me

as the breeze that bent the trees

swept across my back and ushered

me inside.

“Come, my beloved daughter,

I’ve been waiting for this moment.

Be at home – my children always find

their way here.”

Away from the noise, I at last found rest

in the silence of the Father’s heart.
